What it is
The Government of Sarajevo Canton is the executive authority of Sarajevo Canton, one of the ten cantons comprising the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Headed by a Prime Minister, it is mandated to implement cantonal laws, formulate public policy, and manage key regional sectors including education, healthcare, policing, and local infrastructure. The cantonal governance framework was conceived under the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, and the cantonal government was formally constituted in 1996 following the adoption of the Canton's constitution.
