What it is
Isamaa (Fatherland) is a center-right to right-wing, national-conservative, and Christian-democratic political party in Estonia. Its mandate focuses on safeguarding Estonian national identity and culture, maintaining strong national defense, and advocating for economic liberalism and family-oriented policies. Formed in 2006 through the merger of Pro Patria Union and Res Publica, its roots trace back to the early post-Soviet reform governments led by Mart Laar that introduced radical free-market reforms.
