Ministry of HealthGovernment

Montenegro · founded 2006

What it is

The Ministry of Health of Montenegro is the primary executive authority tasked with developing national health policy, regulating the healthcare sector, and overseeing public health institutions across the country. Established in its modern sovereign form in 2006 following Montenegro's independence, its institutional roots trace back to the late 19th-century sanitary administration under the Principality of Montenegro. In the decades following the Second World War, the department coordinated the expansion of a unified, state-funded healthcare network under the Yugoslav federal framework.
