What it is
The Protector of Property and Legal Interests of Montenegro is a state authority that serves as the legal representative and attorney for the State of Montenegro, its ministries, and state bodies. Its primary mandate is to protect state property rights and financial interests in civil, commercial, and administrative disputes before domestic and international courts, as well as to seek amicable dispute settlements and provide legal counsel on property contracts. Established under the Law on State Property in 2009, the institution assumed representation duties formerly handled under earlier state attorney structures following Montenegro's independence.
