What it is
The Government of the Republic of Serbia is the chief executive authority in Serbia, led by the Prime Minister and composed of cabinet ministers. It is responsible for formulating and directing national policy, enforcing laws enacted by the National Assembly, and managing the state administration. The institution traces its modern roots to the Serbian Governing Council formed in 1805 during the First Serbian Uprising, while its current constitutional framework was established in 1991 following democratic reforms.
