What it is
The Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia—operated primarily via the General Secretariat—is the professional and administrative support service of the Serbian head of state. It assists the president in constitutional duties, including legislative review, coordinating national security matters, preparing state visits, and managing presidential decree workflows. The modern institutional apparatus was established under Serbia's 1990 constitution following the end of the socialist collective presidency system and was reorganized to its current independent framework after the dissolution of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro in 2006.
