Government of the NetherlandsGovernment

The Government of the Netherlands (Regering van Nederland) is the executive branch of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, comprising the monarch and the Council of Ministers headed by the Prime Minister. It is responsible for national administration, proposing legislation, and implementing state policy and laws enacted by the States General. The modern constitutional framework of Dutch governance was established by Johan Rudolf Thorbecke's constitutional revision of 1848, which introduced ministerial responsibility and established parliamentary democracy.
