What it is
The 21st District Agricultural Association (Madera County Fair Board / Madera District Fair) is a state institution operating under the California Department of Food and Agriculture's Division of Fairs and Expositions. Governed by a board of directors appointed by the Governor of California, its mandate is to manage and maintain the fairgrounds in Madera, produce the annual agricultural fair, and promote local Central Valley agriculture, youth livestock programs, and community events throughout the year. Established in 1937 following the revival of county agricultural fairs across California during the New Deal era, the association has continually served as a vital cultural and agricultural anchor for Madera County's farming communities.
