The origins of International History Agency
The first activities related to the creation of the Agency began in 2005, when dr. Julia Thompson began to collect materials relating to historical facts that had a significant impact on cultural change in Europe in the twentieth century. Joined by Edward Merkin and Michael Foxers who seek the way they came across interesting facts , not previously communicated to the public. In 2008, a team of 7 people already founded International History Agency – agency to deal with the study of history in terms of interesting and unexplained events, and analyzing historical figures .
Some theory
History is a humanistic and social science that deals with the study of the past , in the strict sense the study of human activities and products , to the oldest certified letter certificates , as opposed to prehistory , archeology , anthropology and natural history. The result of historical research is the description of history ( historiography ) .
Method historian’s work is the study of phenomena of the past through a critical interpretation of their residues and certificates ( sources) in order to reach certain facts , which are arranged chronologically presented in the form of narration. History is most often understood in two different senses – as res gestae , that is happening – the past as such, and rerum gestarum , or any relationship of the past, including historiography .
The word “history ” comes from the Greek word originally meaning ” study , an investigation into knowledge ” and ” knowledge gained through research .” Herodotus used the word to determine the nature of their work beginning with the words ” Here to present Herodotus of Halicarnassus research . ” From this expression originates the name of all science , even though the popular title given to his work is usually translated as This .
Traditionally , for the period to be considered historical research is going on since the creation of a civilization based on the transmission of writing , for the earlier history of the booking date of prehistory . This approach follows the chronological discrepancy beginnings of history in different areas of the world and in different civilizations . In recent centuries, the subject of study , however, constantly widened and deepened , covering all continents of the world , too many illiterate cultures and new anthropological issues . Historical methodology is characterized by the search for the logical structure of cause and effect at a critical approach to historical sources.
The ancient Greeks believed the story behind one of the pieces. History is not easy to classify among the sciences. If we take a purely factual its purpose , which is to determine the course of events and explaining the relation of cause and effect , it becomes an almost strict science (see Historiography ) . However, seeing it as a science, which deals with the one-off events , not by regulations – its strictly scientific becomes ambiguous. If you accept its ability to indicate the relationship of events in the evolution of civilization , we find that rubs against it on ethical and social aspects , as it approaches the philosophy or sociology.
Epochs of history that we are exploring
Generally , our agency takes care of all ages , historians have identified .
The basic division is responsible in principle for the classical division of historical epochs . For the same methodological assumptions are excluded from the scope of the study of history times before the invention of writing ( prehistory ) . However, there are schools canceling a story to the agricultural revolution or assumptions of the first bands (around 10-7.000 BC). The classic division of eras in the history of Europe stands :
Antiquity – 476 times a year , that is, the collapse of the Roman Empire. Differs primarily in the study of ancient Egypt, the cultures of the Middle East , the ancient Greece and the Roman Empire.
Middle Ages – from ancient times to the late fourteenth and fifteenth centuries , that the invention of printing by Gutenberg (1440 ) and the discovery of America (1492 ) for the western part of Europe, and the eastern part of the continent – conquest of Constantinople by the Turks in 1453 . The Middle Ages is divided into:
Early Middle Ages ( V- XII century), classical ( XII – XIV century) and late ( fourteenth and fifteenth centuries ) .
There is a view among some historians mostly French , that division is artificial civilization , and would extend the period of the Middle Ages until the Enlightenment.
Early Modern – times from the Middle Ages to the late eighteenth and nineteenth century , that is, to the French Revolution (1789 ), or the end of the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) . In Poland adopted to count the third Partition of Poland (1795 ), or to the Spring of Nations (1848 ) .
The nineteenth century – a period from the French Revolution to the outbreak of World War I (the ” long nineteenth century ” ) .
Recent history – since 1914 until today.
Periodization of years belongs to a group of important research issues and methodological history. Problem moments of the beginning and end of each epoch has a rich literature. There are also rejecting the idea of the classic division of the era – including the concept of ” long duration ” Fernand Braudel and the “long Middle Ages ” by Jacques Le Goff .

We use more and more resources and allow ourselves to create different theories explaining some misunderstood phenomena and events from the past. Constantly expanding as our team , which is open to new contacts and cooperation. We are able to take the team everyone who will desire to cooperate and demonstrate at least minimal achievements in the field of history. In early 2020 the current operation of IHA has been suspended. Mostly because of the lack of financing and expiration of sponsorship contracts.
Thanks to the Machine Mind Ltd company we are able to save the work and publish it in the form of an archive on this website.
Although the agency is practically no longer operational – it was a great time for us and we do not regret a moment.
