What it is
The Government of the French Republic exercises executive power in France, comprising the Prime Minister, ministers, and secretaries of state. Operating within a semi-presidential framework, its mandate is to determine and conduct national policy, manage public administration, and ensure the execution of laws while remaining accountable to Parliament. The current structure was established under the Constitution of the Fifth Republic, adopted on October 4, 1958, following an initiative led by Charles de Gaulle to end political instability.
