France · founded 2008

What it is

The Regional Directorate for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (DRAAF) of Brittany is a decentralized administrative service of the French Ministry of Agriculture operating under the authority of the regional prefect. It is tasked with steering and executing state policies concerning agriculture, agrifood industries, forestry, and food safety, while also supervising agricultural education in the Brittany region. Created nationally by decree in December 2008 as part of the state's administrative modernization reforms, it succeeded the former Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Forestry (DRAF) to explicitly incorporate food policy into its mandate.
