Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommernparliament

Germany · founded 1990

What it is

The Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is the unicameral state parliament of the German federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, headquartered at Schwerin Castle. It serves as the primary legislative body of the state, responsible for passing laws, approving the regional budget, electing the Minister-President, and holding the state government accountable. While an earlier state assembly operated from 1946 until its dissolution by East German administrative reforms in 1952, the modern parliament was re-established in October 1990 following German reunification.
