Community of Sant'EgidioNGO

The Community of Sant'Egidio is a Rome-based lay Catholic association dedicated to charitable service, interreligious dialogue, and international conflict resolution. Founded in 1968 by Andrea Riccardi in the wake of the Second Vatican Council, its mission centers on voluntary assistance to marginalized populations and peace advocacy. Historically, the community gained international prominence for successfully brokering the 1992 Rome General Peace Accords that ended the 16-year Mozambican Civil War.
