What it is
Chisinau City Hall is the executive municipal governing body of Moldova's capital, responsible for local public administration, municipal services, and urban infrastructure development. Operating under the leadership of the General Mayor, it manages the city's civic governance and implements local policy. The institution's historic headquarters was originally constructed between 1898 and 1902 to house the City Duma, designed by Mitrofan Elladi and Alexandru Bernardazzi. After suffering severe destruction during World War II, the landmark building was reconstructed between 1946 and 1948 following original architectural plans.
