What it is
The Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance of Montenegro (Zavod za hitnu medicinsku pomoć Crne Gore) is the national public health institution responsible for organizing and delivering out-of-hospital emergency medical care across Montenegro. It operates nationwide emergency units and dispatch services to provide rapid triage, urgent medical intervention, and patient transport in life-threatening situations. Established by a government decision in 2009, it unified previously decentralized municipal emergency services into a single coordinated state system when it commenced full operational activities in 2010.
