What it is

The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration is a cabinet-level ministry in the Romanian Government responsible for regional development, spatial planning, public works, and local public administration. Its mandate encompasses managing European Union cohesion and regional funds, coordinating territorial decentralization, and financing large-scale local infrastructure programs such as the Anghel Saligny National Investment Program. The modern institution was formally consolidated in December 2012 when regional development structures absorbed public administration departments formerly housed within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
