What it is

The Ministry of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity is a central executive body of the Government of Romania. It is mandated to formulate, implement, and monitor state policies concerning labor relations, employment, public pensions, social assistance, and family and youth affairs. Historically, Romania established its first dedicated Ministry of Labor in 1920 under Grigore Trancu-Iași, and the portfolio has since undergone multiple government reorganizations frequently merging or separating labor, family, and youth portfolios.
