What it is

The Municipal Council of Düdingen (Gemeinderat Düdingen) is the seven-member collegiate executive authority of the municipality of Düdingen in the Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. It is responsible for overseeing public administration, implementing communal resolutions, managing local finances, and preparing business for the municipal parliament. Historically rooted in parish assemblies, the modern municipal governing body was formally instituted in 1831 following cantonal constitutional reforms, later seeing its administrative jurisdiction redefined in 1922 when the locality of Schmitten split off to form its own municipality.
