What it is
United Nations (TR) represents the collective country team and operational presence of the United Nations system in the Republic of Türkiye, coordinated under the UN Resident Coordinator. It collaborates with national authorities and civil society to advance the Sustainable Development Goals, coordinate large-scale humanitarian and refugee response operations, and promote social inclusion and climate resilience. Türkiye is an original founding member that signed the UN Charter in 1945, and the UN's operational footprint in the country has expanded over five decades to make Ankara and Istanbul major regional operational hubs for Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
