Chamber of RepresentativesParliament

The Chamber of Representatives is the lower house of the bicameral Federal Parliament of Belgium. It exercises federal legislative power, passes the national budget, and holds the federal government politically accountable through votes of confidence. Established in 1831 following the Belgian Revolution and the adoption of the Constitution, it initially operated under a census suffrage system until universal male suffrage was introduced in 1893.
