What it is
The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs is the cabinet ministry of the Croatian government responsible for conducting the nation's foreign policy and managing diplomatic relations. It oversees diplomatic missions abroad, represents Croatia in international organizations, and guides its engagement within the European Union. Established in May 1990 ahead of Croatia's declaration of independence, the ministry played a pivotal role in securing international recognition for the newly formed state during the early 1990s. In 2005, it merged with the Ministry of European Integration to steer Croatia's accession to NATO and the European Union.
