What it is
The Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia is the administrative and advisory body that supports the Croatian head of state in executing constitutional duties, including representing the republic, serving as commander-in-chief of the armed forces, and co-directing foreign policy. Established following the adoption of the December 1990 Constitution, the presidency initially functioned under a powerful semi-presidential model during the Croatian War of Independence before constitutional reforms in 2000 transitioned Croatia to a parliamentary system.
