What it is
The Ministry of Justice and Public Order is an executive department of the Republic of Cyprus responsible for the administration of justice, law reform, prison management, and public security. Originally established as the Ministry of Justice upon Cyprus's independence in 1960, it serves as the essential institutional bridge between the executive and judicial branches. In 1993, the ministry was restructured and formally renamed to incorporate oversight of the Cyprus Police and broader public order responsibilities.
