What it is

The National Office for the Judiciary (Országos Bírósági Hivatal, OBH) is Hungary's central administrative body responsible for the management and governance of the court system. Its mandate encompasses budget management, staffing, judicial appointments, and ensuring the operational conditions of ordinary courts. Established on January 1, 2012, under Hungary's 2011 judicial reforms, it took over administrative duties previously held by the National Council of Justice to separate judicial administration from supreme adjudicative functions.
