Velletri City CouncilLocal authority

The Velletri City Council (Consiglio Comunale di Velletri) is the elected representative and legislative body of the municipality of Velletri in the Metropolitan City of Rome, Italy. It is responsible for passing local ordinances, approving municipal budgets, and supervising the city administration led by the mayor. While Velletri governed itself as a free medieval commune and commissioned its historic Palazzo Comunale in 1572, the modern municipal council was formally instituted in 1870 following the city's annexation to the Kingdom of Italy.
