State Defence Logistics and Procurement CentreGovernment

The State Defence Logistics and Procurement Centre (Valsts aizsardzības loģistikas un iepirkumu centrs, or VALIC) is a specialized civilian-administrative institution under the Ministry of Defence of Latvia. Its mandate is to conduct centralized public procurement, manage supply chains, oversee equipment life cycles, and handle logistics support for the Latvian National Armed Forces and related defense bodies. Established on January 1, 2021, through a structural reform and split of the older State Defence Military Facilities and Procurement Centre (VAMOIC), it was created to relieve active-duty military personnel from routine procurement burdens so they could focus on operational readiness.
