Ministry of Economic Development and DigitalisationGovernment

The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (Ministerul Dezvoltării Economice și Digitalizării) is a central executive ministry of the Government of the Republic of Moldova. Its mandate is to steer national economic policy, stimulate private sector investment and small-business competitiveness, regulate internal and external trade, and coordinate comprehensive public sector digitalization and information society initiatives. Tracing its institutional origins to June 1, 1990, as the Ministry of National Economy during Moldova's transition to sovereignty, the ministry was officially reorganized and renamed in February 2023 under the Recean Cabinet to explicitly merge economic administration with national digital transformation.
