The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova is a central government body responsible for formulating and implementing national policies across the educational system, scientific research, and innovation. Tracing its origins back to May 1953 in the Moldavian SSR, the institution was reorganized following the country's independence in 1990. After merging into a broader culture and sports ministry in 2017, it was formally restructured into its current dedicated format in 2021.
