What it is
The National Social Insurance House (Casa Națională de Asigurări Sociale - CNAS) is the central public administrative authority responsible for managing the public social security system in Moldova. Its core mandate is to administer the State Social Insurance Budget, collect mandatory contributions, and disburse pensions, allowances, and social welfare benefits nationwide. The agency was established in 2001 following the adoption of Law No. 489/1999, which unified previously fragmented state social security bodies into a single administrative institution.
