The State Tax Service (Serviciul Fiscal de Stat) is the central public tax administration authority of the Republic of Moldova, operating under the Ministry of Finance. It is tasked with administering the national tax system, collecting state revenues, enforcing tax compliance, and preventing fiscal fraud. The institution was originally established on July 1, 1990, as the State Tax Inspectorate within the Moldavian SSR. In April 2017, it underwent a comprehensive institutional reform that consolidated 35 territorial tax inspectorates into a single centralized legal entity.
