Led by the City President, it oversees public services, infrastructure, local budgeting, and civil administration for its residents. The unified municipal administration was established in 1826 following the formal merger of Old and New Częstochowa, and its classicist historic town hall building was completed in 1836 on Biegański Square before administrative offices later moved to their current site.
