What it is
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Romania is the principal bilateral diplomatic mission representing the Polish state in Bucharest. It manages diplomatic, defense, economic, and cultural relations with Romania while supporting the bilateral Strategic Partnership and NATO Eastern Flank cooperation. Formal diplomatic ties began in June 1919 with the opening of a Polish legation, which notably aided the evacuation of tens of thousands of Polish soldiers and officials through Romania in September 1939 before being forced to close in November 1940.
