What it is
The Ministry of Digital Affairs is a Polish government department responsible for national digitalization policy, telecommunications, public digital services, and cybersecurity. Established in 2015 from the former Ministry of Administration and Digitization, it took over key registers such as PESEL and spearheaded the rollout of digital identification. It was temporarily dissolved in 2020 and incorporated into the Prime Minister's Chancellery before being formally re-established as an independent ministry in 2023.
