What it is
The City of Bardejov is a municipal local government authority in northeastern Slovakia, responsible for managing local administrative services, urban planning, public infrastructure, and the socioeconomic development of the municipality. First mentioned in written records in 1241, it flourished as a major trade center and was elevated to a free royal town by King Louis I of Hungary in 1376. In 2000, its remarkably preserved medieval town center and Jewish Suburbium were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
