What it is
The Government Offices of Sweden (Regeringskansliet) is the unified administrative authority that assists the Government and its ministries in ruling the country. It is responsible for drafting legislation, preparing government bills for the Riksdag, compiling the central budget proposal, and directing state agencies. Historically evolved from the ancient Royal Chancery (Kunglig Majestäts kansli), it was formally reorganized into its modern institutional structure on January 1, 1975, following constitutional reforms that transferred executive authority from the monarch to the cabinet.
