What it is
The Jihlava City Assembly (Zastupitelstvo města Jihlavy) is the supreme elected representative and governing body of the statutory city of Jihlava in the Czech Republic. It is mandated to approve the municipal budget, enact local ordinances, manage municipal property, and elect the city council and mayor. Although municipal self-government in Jihlava traces its origins back to 13th-century royal mining town charters, the contemporary democratic assembly was established in 1990 following the Velvet Revolution.
