What it is
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic is the central government department responsible for the nation's foreign policy and international relations. It is tasked with managing diplomatic and consular missions abroad, overseeing bilateral and multilateral ties, and representing Czech interests in organizations such as the European Union and NATO. Formed in its modern state in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the institution traces its lineage back to the 1918 Czechoslovak foreign service and is headquartered in Prague's historic Černín Palace.
