Prague City Assemblylocal
Czechia · founded 1990
What it is
The Prague City Assembly is the supreme elected representative body and local legislature of Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. Exercising both municipal and regional authority, it is responsible for approving the municipal budget, enacting city ordinances, and electing the Mayor and the executive City Council. It was re-established in its modern democratic form in 1990 following the Velvet Revolution, though unified representative governance for Prague dates back to the administrative merger of its historic towns in 1784.
