What it is
The Luxembourg State Treasury (Trésorerie de l'État) is a public administrative authority operating under the Ministry of Finance of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Its statutory mandate is to centralize and execute state payments and receipts, manage state liquidity and sovereign cash flows, issue sovereign debt instruments, and oversee the state's financial assets and bank accounts. Originally organized as a distinct accounting and cash-handling department under the Ministry of Finance following the State Accounting Act of July 27, 1936, the Treasury's operational framework was thoroughly modernized under the landmark Budget, Accounting and State Treasury Act of June 8, 1999.
