What it is
The Ministry for the Environment, Energy and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour is a government department of Malta responsible for national environmental protection, climate action, energy policy, and urban greening initiatives. It is also tasked with driving the infrastructural, economic, and aesthetic revitalization of the historic Grand Harbour region. Established in January 2024 following a cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Robert Abela, the ministry was created by reassigning the enterprise portfolio away from the previous Ministry for Environment, Energy and Enterprise and incorporating responsibility for Grand Harbour regeneration projects.
