What it is
The Ministry of Transport of North Macedonia is a key cabinet-level government executive body. It is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing the country's transportation infrastructure, including road networks, railways, civil aviation, and inland water transport. Formally established in its modern capacity following the country's independence in 1991, the institution evolved from the socialist-era republican transport administration within Yugoslavia and historically also oversaw national telecommunications policies.
