State Election CommissionGovernment

The State Election Commission of North Macedonia (Државна изборна комисија - ДИК) is the supreme independent election management body responsible for preparing and administering national electoral processes. Its statutory mandate is to organize and supervise presidential, parliamentary, and local elections as well as referendums, maintain the single voter registry, confirm candidate lists, and announce official election results. While election commissions existed ad hoc since the country's first multiparty elections in 1990, the SEC was formally reconstituted as a permanent, independent institutional legal entity on July 2, 2004, under legislative amendments to the Law on the Election of Members of Parliament.
