What it is
The Prime Minister's Office (Statsrådsberedningen) is the central government agency tasked with assisting the Prime Minister of Sweden and coordinating the work of the Swedish Government. It oversees strategic political planning, EU policy, national security, and cross-ministerial alignment. Operating out of the Rosenbad government complex in Stockholm, the office was formally constituted in 1960 to support the increasingly complex executive functions of modern Swedish governance.
