What it is

The Government Property Agency (GPA) is an executive agency of the UK Cabinet Office responsible for managing the central civil government's general-purpose estate. Its mandate is to operate as a centralized corporate landlord and strategic asset manager, driving cost efficiencies, property rationalization, and the development of shared modern workplaces like the Government Hubs programme. Set up in shadow form in 2017, the GPA officially launched on 1 April 2018 to resolve decades of siloed property management that had persisted since the abolition of the earlier Property Services Agency in 1993.
