What it is
The Delaware Court of Chancery is a specialized court of equity in the U.S. state of Delaware. It has jurisdiction over equitable matters, most notably corporate governance disputes, mergers and acquisitions, and internal business entity affairs. Established under Delaware's 1792 Constitution to separate equity jurisdiction from common law courts, it traces its heritage to the English High Court of Chancery and decides cases without juries.
