The Hancock Cemetery Board of Trustees is a municipal administrative board serving the City of Hancock in Houghton County, Michigan. Composed of citizen trustees appointed by the City Council, its mandate is to formulate operational policies, oversee perpetual care funds, and supervise the maintenance, layout, and burial regulations of municipal burial grounds, principally Lakeside Cemetery. Established alongside the formal incorporation of Hancock as a city in 1903 to manage civic burial grounds that originated in the late 19th century, the board oversees the resting place of many early pioneers and copper-mining figures from the historic Copper Country boom.
