What it is
The Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board is an independent state advisory body in the United States tasked with providing official consensus estimates of Nebraska's General Fund revenue. Its projections serve as the mandatory fiscal baseline used by both the Governor to draft the state budget and the Legislature to establish appropriations and tax policy. Established in 1984 under Legislative Bill 892, the nine-member board was created to insulate state revenue forecasting from political bias.
