What it is
The One-Call Board of Texas, officially operating as the Texas Underground Facility Notification Corporation, is a state-created entity charged with overseeing the statewide 'Call Before You Dig' damage prevention system. Its mandate is to ensure public safety and protect underground infrastructure by regulating notification centers and facilitating communication between excavators and facility operators. Established by the Texas Legislature in 1997 under the Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act, it operates without state tax funds under a board of directors appointed by the Governor.
