Rockcastle County Fiscal CourtLocal authority

United States · founded 1810

What it is

The Rockcastle County Fiscal Court is the primary local governing body of Rockcastle County, Kentucky, operating out of the county seat in Mount Vernon. Comprising the County Judge-Executive and five elected magistrates, it is mandated to enact local ordinances, approve the county budget, manage county property, and oversee local infrastructure and public services. Established alongside the formation of Rockcastle County in 1810, the court replaced the earlier administrative functions of the historic Court of Quarter Sessions under Kentucky's evolving constitutional system.
