What it is
The Superior Court of the Oconee Judicial Circuit is a state general-jurisdiction trial court serving six central Georgia counties, including Bleckley, Dodge, Montgomery, Pulaski, Telfair, and Wheeler. It exercises broad judicial authority over felony criminal prosecutions, civil litigation, equity proceedings, and family law disputes within the circuit. The judicial circuit was established by an act of the Georgia General Assembly in 1871 and began holding court terms in 1872. Notably, despite its name, Oconee County itself is not situated within the Oconee Judicial Circuit.
